Welcome To Roots Way

Who is Ms. Erica?

Erica Moriarty (she/her/hers) is a Waldorf early childhood teacher, artist, and nature enthusiast. Erica has a bachelors degree in Psychology and Art from Northern Illinois University. She has a Waldorf Foundations Certification from the Center for Anthroposophy and an Early Childhood Certification from LifeWays North America. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling with emphasis in art therapy.

Erica also enjoys camping, painting, gardening, teaching group fitness and spending time with her husband and three children.

Ms. Frida, teacher's pet/class assistant

Ms. Frida joins Roots Way classes from time to time. She is originally from Arkansas and came to Chicago as part of a rescue mission with the Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue Organization. She initially came as a foster dog to Ms. Erica’s family in January 2025 but she charmed her way into becoming a permanent member of the household.

Along with her charm, she did come to us with an incredible story of perseverance through health struggles. Despite a diagnosis of heartworm & lyme disease and most recently, a health crisis and resulting diagnosis of Addison’s disease, Frida continues to exude great energy and a love of outdoor exploration. She loves grabbing her ball and getting leashed up to see her “little people” in the woods- she especially loves when they bring her blueberry snacks!
