Roots Way Nature Playgroup: Encouraging Nature Exploration for Young Children
Roots Way Nature Playgroup aims to foster a love for nature exploration among young children and their caregivers. The program is designed to inspire children’s imaginations through the exploration of the beautiful, wild forest preserves of Chicagoland. It offers an introductory forest classroom-like experience, complete with a Waldorf-inspired morning circle, puppet play, and snack time.
Meet Erica Moriarty: Our Experienced Waldorf Teacher
The exploration of local forests and parks will be led by Erica Moriarty, an experienced Waldorf teacher. She emphasizes the importance of dressing appropriately for outdoor play, including wearing coats, rain gear, and snow pants when necessary. Regardless of the weather, children are encouraged to fully engage with nature and explore their surroundings. This approach aims to instill a deep appreciation for the natural environment and promote the holistic development of children’s minds and bodies through play.
