Roots Way Nature Playgroup: Encouraging Nature Exploration for Young Children
Roots Way Nature Playgroup is dedicated to fostering a love for nature exploration among young children and their caregivers. The program aims to inspire children’s imaginations by facilitating the exploration of the beautiful, wild forest preserves of Chicagoland. This initiative provides an introductory forest classroom-like experience, complete with a Waldorf-inspired morning circle, puppet play, and snack time.
Meet Erica Moriarty: Our Experienced Waldorf Teacher
Leading the exploration of local forests and parks is Erica Moriarty, an experienced Waldorf teacher. With her guidance, children and their caregivers will learn the importance of layering up in appropriate clothing, including coats, rain gear, and snow pants when needed, to play outside in any weather. This approach aims to truly encourage children to engage with and explore nature, fostering a deep appreciation for the natural environment and promoting the holistic development of their minds and bodies through play.
